School Board Recognition Month

January 2018

 Whereas, an excellent public education system is vital to the quality of life for all California citizens and communities; and

 Whereas, local school board members are committed to children and believe that all children can be successful learners and that the best education is tailored to the individual needs of the child; and

 Whereas, school board members work closely with parents, educational professionals and other community members to create the educational vision we want for our students; and

 Whereas, school board members are responsible for building and maintaining the structure that provides a solid foundation for our school system; and

 Whereas, school board members are strong advocates for public education and are responsible for communicating needs of the school district to the public and the public’s expectations to the district; and

 Whereas, the mission of the public schools is to meet the diverse educational needs of all children and to empower them to become competent, productive contributors to a democratic society and an ever-changing world;

 NOW, THEREFORE, I, Bryce Brin, do hereby declare my appreciation to the members of the Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees and proclaim the month of January 2018 as School Board Recognition Month in Tulelake, California. I urge all citizens to join me in recognizing the dedication and hard work of local school board members and in working with them to create an education system that meets the needs of our children.

Our Mission:

The Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District's mission is to prepare all of our students for the future utilizing all district resources to ensure that students achieve their potential.

To that end, the district has invested heavily in making available to all students and staff a range of technology, from networked computers to video production equipment.  In addition, our school district provides systematic sequential and articulated academic and vocational programs.  These programs are augmented by a variety of social, physical, and pupil support activities designed to address the current and future needs of our student population.
